Mobile Deposit

Mobile Deposit allows you to deposit checks to your savings or checking account using the camera on your mobile device or tablet through the myCSE app.


Eligibility

To be eligible for Mobile Deposit, you must:

  • Be a CSE Credit Union member for at least 60 days.
  • Be a member in good standing (cannot have excessive returned items).
  • Be enrolled in the myCSE app.
  • Have a current e-mail address and phone number on file with CSE.
  • Have a CSE checking account.

How to Apply

If you qualify for Mobile Deposit, you may enroll in any of the following ways:

  • Log in to your CSe-Banking online account and send us a request through the message center (available through the regular website only and not the myCSE mobile app).
    • On a laptop or desktop computer: click the Messages link in the top right corner of the page.
    • ​On a tablet or mobile device: click the three horizontal lines on the top left corner of the page. You will then see an option for Messages.
  • Call or visit any of our branches. To safeguard your account, please be prepared to answer several identifying questions.

Mobile Deposit FAQs

For the check to process, the back of the check must include the following:

  1. Your signature
  2. The words “For Mobile Deposit Only at CSE” written out
  3. Your CSE membership (account) number

If the check is payable to two people, it must be signed by both people. 

Deposit by 3:00 P.M. ET and your funds will usually be available in 3 business days. You will generally be able to see your deposit in your account the next business day, but there will be a hold for at least 3 business days.  An extended hold may also apply.

You should keep your paper check for at least two weeks following the confirmation of deposit and then shred it.

  • ​Third party checks – Checks payable to someone else, endorsed and signed over to you.
  • Incomplete checks – Checks that do not contain signatures of the maker.
  • Non-Negotiable Items – The online deposit of any item stamped with a “non-negotiable” watermark is prohibited.
  • Checks payable to two parties and one signature is not endorsed.
  • Altered checks – Any check that contains evidence or a change of information (correction fluid, crossed-out amounts, etc).
  • Checks that are stale-dated or post-dated – Certain checks contain instructions such as “Void 90 days after issue date.”  If no instructions are contained, then the check is stale 6 months after the issue date.
  • Savings bonds/money orders/travelers checks.
  • Foreign checks.
  • Temporary checks.
  • Checks that have previously been submitted through Mobile Deposit or through a service offered at any other financial institution.
  • Any check made out to a business even if you are the owner of the business.
  • Any item that you suspect or know to be fraudulent or unauthorized by the legal account holder.
  • Any item that does not have a clear or legible image and/or MICR line.

In the myCSE mobile app, select Deposit.

On the Deposit screen, select “View mobile deposit history.”

On the Deposit history screen, select Accepted, Pending or Failed to see the status.

Yes. Please be aware that any mobile deposit into an IRA savings will be considered a regular contribution for the current calendar year. We do not accept prior year contributions via mobile deposit.
